Transformations of the Microstructure and Phase Compositions of Titanium Alloys during Ultrasonic Impact Treatment. Part I. Commercially Pure Titanium

Experimental and theoretical studies helped to reveal patterns of surface roughening the microstructure refinement in layer commercial pure titanium during ultrasonic impact treatment. Applying transmission electron microscopy technique, a gradient ultrasonically treated sample, where grain size is varied from nano- micrometers was revealed. It shown that plastic strains sample proceeded according ploughing mechanism, which accompanied by dislocation sliding, twinning, transformations phase composition. The molecular dynamics method applied demonstrate mechanism associated with formation stacking faults, as well reversible displacement atoms their sites hcp lattice, causing change coordination numbers. role electronic subsystem development strain-induced treatment discussed.
